When Nanaw went to visit Chase on Sunday evening, she had to drive through an unexpected snowfall. Mama texted Nanaw in the afternoon and told her about the snow. Nanaw had been napping and didn't realize it had started to snow. Dinner was absolutely delicious chili and gluten-free cornbread -- one of Nanaw's favorite meals. Chase had a lunchable he didn't eat and cornbread he didn't eat. He has his annual check-up tomorrow and Nanaw is eagerly awaiting hearing about his weight and his height. Nanaw will miss this check-up for the first time ever because she has a dentist appointment at the same time. Nanaw and Chase played in his room before dinner with the twins and triple-its, as Chase says the word. The first photo below is of the chaneleon triple-its. They also did some passing of the football and Chase explained to Nanaw the difference between a fumble and an incomplete pass. Chase has now turned his attention to football and is becoming obsessed with that -- so funny. What a little sports nut he is. After dinner, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw played Bingo. Mama had gone to Dollar Tree for prizes, and she got some cool stuff. They played several games and everybody won the following prizes: Daddy won red licorice and peanut M&Ms (which he gave to Chase); Mama won the Word Find book and a red Valentine's candle; Chase won exploding Valentine's balloons and a little car; Nanaw won kettle corn and a blue Sharpie marker. Nanaw left early in case the snow was bad but she got home safely. However, she started playing on the computer and forgot to text Mama so that was Bad Nanaw.

The fish fry at Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky's house that was scheduled for Saturday night has been rescheduled. Uncle Mike thought he might have to go to work because they were predicting snow. Chase had a soccer game on Saturday morning. One of his friends from his class, Hunter, was on the opposing team, so both boys were saying to each other, "You're going down!" Hunter's team won but Chase's team put on a good show. After the soccer game, Nanaw stayed at Chase's house for awhile. Mama, Chase and Nanaw drew pictures at the kitchen table -- it was grand fun. In the evening, Chase and Daddy went to church. Mama and Nanaw talked on the phone and texted; Mama invited Nanaw for a chili dinner Sunday Night before Family Game Night. Chase said he wanted to play Bingo with prizes tomorrow night. Mama promised to make another one of Nanaw's favorite meals soon: meat loaf!

When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, Chase said he didn't play in the snow at recess on Friday because it was mostly gone. He said he played on the blacktop. He remembered his snow boots and his water bottle -- good boy. Friday night was a major adventure for Chase, Mama and Nanaw. They went to Aunt Becky's school Guadeloupe for Bingo. First, they went to Uncle Mike's house to pick him up so he and Aunt Becky wouldn't have two cars at school; Aunt Becky was already at school working. Playing Bingo was excellent fun. Mama, Chase and Uncle Mike all won multiple games; Nanaw was the only one who didn't win anything. Mama and Uncle Mike mostly gave their prizes to Chase. Chase won three stuffed chameleons, an art kit with markers, crayons, colored pencils, paper and a sharpener, a box of crayons, a Hot Wheels car and a soccer toy. Mama got a horse? from OU named Boomer. Uncle Mike had a little white bear and a chameleon. The best part was that they won the raffle for the Hot Wheels toys. Chase was very excited about that. The second best part was the delicious hot popcorn that Aunt Becky provided.

Thursday mornings at Chase's school are Nanaw's favorites because she gets to volunteer with some of the boys and girls in Chase's class. Thursday's assignment consisted of two stories: Sam and Buster, a story about similarities and differences between two dogs; and Mike's Bike, about a boy who gets a flat tire on his bike but gets rescued by his dad. Nanaw had a great time with the kids. When it was time to go, Chase asked Nanaw if she wanted to watch him play in his snow boots on the mountain of snow on the playground, and Nanaw said, "Yes, of course!" Nanaw watched him play with the other boys and girls and took pictures of him. As she walked to her car, for the first time Chase ran after her to say good-bye and give her a hug and a kiss. It was so wonderful and made Nanaw very happy. When Chase came home from school, he played ROBLOX on the laptop and used the hockey goal horn app on Nanaw's phone. Very funny. And somehow, Chase made the horn play on Alexa. Also very funny.

On Wednesday morning when Nanaw went to pick Chase up, he showed her his new app: the NHL app. Nanaw tried to install it on her iPad but couldn't because the iPad doesn't have IOS 10. But Chase found another app he wanted: a hockey goal horn app. They installed the NHL app on Nanaw's phone and the hockey goal horn app on her iPad. Chase loves the goal horns and was dancing around the house to them. Chase was very excited about taking his snow boots to school. He insisted that Nanaw put them in his backpack; he said the other kids had their boots in their backpacks. He was looking forward to playing in the snow at recess. There was a huge mountain of snow on the playground, and Nanaw is sure that Chase will be climbing and tumbling down the mountain of snow. Chase's teacher Mrs. Neff posted a photo of the class on Seesaw; it's the first picture below. Chase got his report card today and did well again. He got an O for outstanding in spelling, a GT in Music, PE and Computers. He got a lower case x in stays quiet when necessary. Mama and Nanaw are not sure what that means -- probably that he talks when he shouldn't. After school, Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to play at the craft table. Chase wanted to try out the new scissors Nanaw bought for him at Dollar Tree. Upstairs, Chase played ROBLOX on the laptop and watched the weather channel, two of his favorite things.

On Tuesday morning when Nanaw took Chase to school, they walked in with Sami who had her snow boots with her. She asked Chase if he brought his, and he said "Mama wouldn't let me." Nanaw thinks he meant she wouldn't let him if he asked her -- but they'd never talked about it. And Mama says she definitely would let him take his boots -- so there. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she asked him what he had for lunch. He said sausage and waffles with syrup and that it was really good. On the way home from school, they stopped at the library. They did the scavenger hunt, and Nanaw thought it was a difficult one but Chase did really well at it. He found the final item all by himself -- Nanaw couldn't find it. He got Cheez-Its again from the vending machine and shared them with Nanaw -- what a sweet boy he is. Bacj at Nanaw's house, he played ROBLOX on the laptop and somehow managed to get the screen in portrait orientation instead of landscape. Nanaw had to go in to the Help file to figure out how to fix it. Mama said they had Papa John's pizza for dinner -- it was a fundraiser for Chase's school. She said they have gluten-free pizza so sometime Nanaw can get some.

Mama had the day off from work so she took Chase to school on Monday morning. Unfortunately, Nanaw took Chase's R2D2 backpack home with her on Friday so Mama had to invent another backpack and folder for Chase. Silly Nanaw. Mama and Nanaw went on various adventures while Chase was at school They took bags of clothes to Goodwill; then Mama bought a pair of snow pants for Chase there. Then they went to the Bad Sister boutique where Nanaw bought a phone purse and Mama bought a candle. Next they went to Dollar Tree where Nanaw bought two scissors for Chase. At school, Chase missed one of his spelling words but still got the red list of spelling words. Chase went to the office and got a bag of M&M's for selling magazines. Chase fell asleep on the way home from school and slept a little while at Nanaw's house. When he woke up, he played ROBLOX on the laptop. When Nanaw took Chase home, he and Mama did his homework. He had to a read a book with two characters and tell what happened differently with each one. Then he had to practice his red list of spelling words. Mama was going to the Parents and Friends meeting Monday night, so Chase got to play with Daddy all evening.
