Chase and Daddy went to church on Sunday morning, and then after church, Chase had a special assignment. This is Catholic Schools Week, and prospective parents and children are visiting ICS to see if the children want to go to school there. So Chase was an ambassador who accompanied one of the teachers, Mrs. C., and the parents and children on a tour of the school. One of the things Chase said to the family was that almost all of the school lunches were good. LOL In the afternoon, Chase went to a Learn to Play hockey session at the Affton ice rink. The idea was to help the little kids as they learned how to play hockey. So Sunday was definitely Chase's volunteer day. In the early evening, after Chase got home from Learn to Play, Nanaw came over for chili and corn bread and to help Chase study. The chili and corn bread were delicious. Chase took a few bites of each but didn't much like them and didn't want to eat any more. After dinner, Chase and Nanaw studied the Mockingbird vocabulary words for the test on Monday. Surprisingly enough, Chase still didn't know the words very well even though they'd studied a lot. This is the first time that's happened. The words are really hard, complicated and difficult. On his own, Chase studied for Monday's DLR test and the California map test in geography. Next week, Chase is the ambassador for the Penny Pincher event at school, where they're collecting money for charity. Mama, Nanaw and Daddy have speculated that Chase probably hasn't volunteered for these volunteer events. Probably the teachers are wanting to Chase to reach out more and not be so shy.
