When Mama brought Chase to Nanaw's house on Thursday morning, she reminded her about Chase's hockey camp. It's a week-long camp the week after Chase is out of school. Nanaw had forgotten about it, and was sad again to not have Chase that week. Then Mama reminded Nanaw about their vacation, which is two weeks after Chase is out of school -- another sadness for Nanaw. Nanaw went to the calendar and counted how many weeks she would have Chase this summer, and it's only 11 weeks. So Nanaw will have to make the most out of what she gets. Chase told Mama and Nanaw he took the AR test for his book and got 9 points. He thinks it will take his reading grade from a 90 up to an A. That would be nice. Nanaw has been given Chase strawberries and green grapes as one of his after-school snacks, and he seems to like them better than the fruit cocktail. So Nanaw asked Mama to get them from the grocery store. When Nanaw took Chase home, Mama told her he was going to have a hockey tournament this weekend, plus a game on Friday night. This is is a special hockey thing because the regular season doesn't start for a couple of months.
