On Friday, Chase had a boat load of tests and homework due. It was the last day of the first quarter, and the teachers got in as much work as possible. Chase had two English tests, one DLR test (that's grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.). and one about nouns. He had a history test about the preamble to the Constitution. Because he was out sick yesterday, he missed the Outsiders test so he took that on Friday. He also had a religion test. So that's his five tests. He also had math homework, science fair homework and geography homework to complete the study guide document for Monday's test. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school on Friday afternoon, he said the tests weren't too bad and he thought he did okay. The one area he didn't do well in was the AR reading points. He didn't get very many points on his reading tests so he's probably going to get a C+ in reading. On Saturday, Chase had a busy schedule, all day and all evening, so Nanaw didn't get to see him. He had a hockey game and a baseball game during the day. Then in the evening, his friend Drew's parents had a chili party for some of Drew's friends and their parents. Chase had planned to eat some chili, which he's never done before. But his stomach didn't feel so good so he just ate crackers. On Sunday, he had another hockey game, and they won their first game, 4 to 2. Chase and the team and the parents were very happy about that. They were so happy about the victory, everybody decided to celebrate with lunch at a nearby Mexican restaurant. On Sunday afternoon, Nanaw came over to help Chase study for his Monday geography test. They studied for two hours, and Chase promised to read over the material again Sunday evening and go over it again on Monday morning before school. The first picture below is of Chase and his little blonde-haired church buddy Henry on their way to mass. Chase is holding Henry's hand; he says, "Henry looks like a mini-me."
