Chase was off from school on Wednesday and the big plan for the day was an adventure at the Magic House. Chase and Nanaw got there shortly after the Magic House opened but it was already very crowded. School must have been out for most kids, and everybody had the same idea. Nanaw was afraid that the Dinosaur Train would be gone but fortunately, it was still there. Chase had a great time playing with all the various displays and activities in the Dinosaur Train. He visited almost all of his favorite places: the train, the secret slide, the hockey display, the ball display, the bubble room, the waterworks, the mechanic shop, the pizza place, the bank and finally the construction zone. The construction zone was the only area that wasn't crowded. That’s because it has a huge window open to the outside, and it was very cold outside so no one wanted to be in there. Nanaw and Chase only stayed there for a few minutes. At home, Chase played with the crafts supplies -- the beads, pipe cleaners, loom, and the some mores kit. He made the cutest little some more all on his own.

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Tuesday morning was the thanksgiving Mass at Chase's school. The parking lot was packed, and Chase and Nanaw had to make their own parking space by the newspaper recycling bins. They parked by a huge water puddle and had difficulty walking around the puddle. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he was wearing a Pilgrim hat he made. In the car, he took off the Pilgrim hat and put on both of his knit hats at the same time -- the Mizzou hat and the Paw Patrol hat. When they got back to Nanaw's house, Chase played with his Mega Blocks, which were still spread out all over Pawpaw's bed. When Nanaw took Chase home, they said good-bye to Sam who was going to the vet to get his bandage checked. Daddy was going bowling so Nanaw was going to stay with Chase until Mama got home. But Mama got home before Daddy left. Mama had planned to bake turkey cookies with Chase on Tuesday night but decided to wait until Thanksgiving morning so they had plenty of time.

Monday, November 20, 2017

As usual, Chase was excited and happy to go to school. Nanaw asked Mrs. Herrmann what time Chase should be at school tomorrow -- it's the day of the Thanksgiving Mass and Feast. Mrs. Herrmann said the regular time is fine. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he had once again forgotten his water bottle. On the way home, they stopped at Chase's house so he could go to the bathroom. Mama was working at home but she was on the phone when they got there so they didn't get to talk to her. At Nanaw's house, Chase played for a long while with his slime -- he certainly loves that slime. He ate a roll with butter and really liked it -- he's such a bread boy. He got out all his mega blocks and dumped them all over Pawpaw's bed. He said he was building a city. Nanaw asked if she should leave them out for him to play with tomorrow, and he said yes. In the evening, Mama sent Nanaw a video of Chase coloring the cool Thanksgiving tablecloth Mama bought for him. In the video, he's singing Hallelujah -- very cute.

Sunday, November 19, 2017

On Sunday, Chase visited both of his grandmothers. In the afternoon, Chase, Mama and Daddy went out to Grandma Pat's house in Wentzville for a family party. Uncle George 's daughter Ashley was here from Wyoming for a visit. Chase had fun playing with his cousins Wesley and Alexander. In the evening, Sam, Chase, Mama and Daddy went to Nanaw's house for Uncle Mike's 52nd birthday celebration. Nanaw made fox fried chicken (as Pawpaw used to call it) for dinner, and Chase ate some and said he liked it. After dinner, Mama put together two scavenger hunts for Chase, one upstairs and one downstairs. Nanaw had gone to dollar Tree after church and bought a Santa paddle ball and a miniature pinball game with a penguin on it as prizes for the scavenger hunt. Nanaw helped Chase with the scavenger hunts by reading the clues to him. He had a great time with the scavenger hunts, and Nanaw is sure there are a lot of them in his future.

Nanaw went to visit Chase on Saturday morning, and she had lots of fun playing with him. They went downstairs and played soccer for a few minutes. Then they went into the blue room to play with the Sky High Bridge Jump. Chase tried a new thing with the non-battery trains and had fun with them. Then he had some train races with the battery trains. Next, he got out his Legos and made what he calls "ocstacle" courses for the trains. Nanaw watched as he built the "ocstacle" courses and decided that he's going to be an engineer. He did really well figuring out how to make the Legos into the construction he wanted. It was fascinating. In the afternoon, Chase and Daddy were going out to Uncle Chris's house to clean out the pole barn. Chase was excited that he was going to get to play with cousin Elias.

Friday, November 17, 2017

Mama had the day off from work on Friday so she took Chase to school. Then she and Nanaw went to the Proving Ground for coffee and then shopping -- to Dollar Tree, Walmart, Penney's, Old Navy and then back to Dollar Tree again. When Mama and Nanaw picked Chase up from school, they saw Brady and his mom; Brady wanted to come play at Chase's house and Brady's mom and Mama promised to find a time when they could do that. At Chase's house, Mama invented two scavenger hunts for Chase: one that led to some glow in the dark creatures and one that was also for Nanaw, leading to two packs of Smarties. Chase had a wonderful time and loved the scavenger hunts. Mama has a winner here! In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to Applebee's for dinner.

Thursday, November 16, 2017

Mama worked at home on Thursday so she could be with Sam. Chase was excited about seeing his church buddy Steven for church on Thursday. Nanaw went over to Chase's house in the afternoon because the cleaning lady was at her house. She stayed downstairs so she didn't bother Mama working upstairs. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, they went to the Telegraph Road library. Chase was happy to see that they had the trains out on the table again. They'd bought many more things to go with the trains and Chase had a great time building tracks. Then an older boy (about eight, Nanaw thinks) named Daniel came to play at the train table, and Chase was delighted. They played together nicely for awhile. When it was time to go, Nanaw was afraid Chase would fuss but he was fine as long as he got to go to the "bending machine." In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went up to Chase's school for Family Fun Night. Nanaw babysat Sam so Mama didn't worry about it. At Family Fun Night, they had a variety of activities put on by the teachers, including crafts and cooking. Brady was there and Chase had a good time.
