Friday, October 31, 2025 (Happy Halloween!)

Friday on Halloween, Chase had the day off school for a Diocesan event, which made him very happy. In the morning, he helped Mama clean the house and get things ready for his sleepover Friday night. At 10 a.m., Mama brought Chase over to visit Nanaw. For a change, Chase didn't play with his phone. He did all kinds of things instead. He played knee hockey in the hall, then helped Nanaw with the train track on the Halloween table. He managed to get the track put together so that it finally worked. Nanaw was very happy and proud. Then he took the four locomotives from the holiday train and had a race with them on the kitchen counter. James, the red train won the race. Next, he decided that he wanted to play with the kinetic sand on the kitchen counter. He was excited to see that Nanaw had bought a new bag of purple kinetic sand and that's what he played with. Next, he briefly went over the notes that Nanaw prepared for him on his AR book, Outcast -- Dragon Secrets. He's almost done with the book and plans to take the AR test on Tuesday. Nanaw will make him study the notes a lot so he can get as many of the 12 points as possible. Mama came and got Chase at 12:30 and took him to the Affton skating rink for Stick and Puck with a couple of his hockey friends. In the evening, he had the biggest Halloween celebration he'd ever had. Instead of just wearing his skeleton costume, he put on his hockey jersey over it, along with his hockey helmet, and carried his hockey stick. He really looked good with the outfit he'd created. Cole had a skeleton outfit also so it was good that Chase changed his a bit. Tucker, one of his Bears baseball friends, came over to go trick or treating with the crew and ended up joining them for the sleepover. All kinds of people were there -- Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky, Brady's parents and his sister Emma, Hunter's mom, and all kinds of friends and relatives of Brady's mom. It was quite the crowd. Mama got Papa Murphy's pizza about five p.m., and Nanaw really enjoyed the thin crust pizza. The boys had Papa John's pizza later in the evening. Mama made cupcakes and bought a Halloween cookie cake. It was a great, enjoyable night!
