On Thursday morning, when Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house, she said her latest thing with Chase is for them to watch Beavis and Butthead together. She said they both laughed so hard at it, even though it's sort of inappropriate for Chase. Mama talked to Nanaw about Kristin wanting to go with Mama and Nanaw to the December 6 craft fair at ICS. She wants to see Stella, one of Chase's classmate's, crocheting. Kristin saw some of her things at Witches' Night Out and was very impressed and wants to see more. The family left for Rockbridge about 9 a.m. on Friday morning. Silly Nanaw set her alarm for 6:30 p.m. instead of 6:30 a.m. so she had to scramble to get ready on time but she managed to do it. They stopped at Panera's and everybody got goodies. Nanaw got cinnamon crunch bagels and orange scones; Chase got an M&M cookie. They got to Rockbridge about 1 p.m. and got to go to their rooms right away. Next, they had lunch and then Uncle Mike Aunt Becky, and Daddy went fishing. Daddy and Uncle Mike didn't catch any fish but Aunt Becky did. At dinner, they all dessert -- yum, yum. Nanaw had cheesecake, and Chase and Mama shared chocolate pudding pie. Daddy had a taste too, and they all agreed Mama's was better. That evening, everybody was glad to see that Dish still had Dishscape. This month's version is a Thanksgiving scene with lots of snow. They saw the monster run across the screen, along with five turkeys, a dancing snowman, a cat and dog wearing hats, people and skating. On Saturday, they rented a golf cart and Mama drove Nanaw around everywhere. Chase rode with them a couple of times. At Nanaw's request, Mama drove the golf cart way up the road to the house where Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky stayed when they came to Rockbridge a couple of years ago. Chase and Daddy were fishing at the meat hole ( the place by the waterfall where there are a lot of trout). After only ten minutes of fishing, Chae caught a huge trout -- 3.3 pounds. Everybody was so excited, especially Chase. He stopped fishing then because he said he'd met his goal of catching one trout. On Sunday, Uncle Mike, Aunt Becky, Daddy, Chase, and Mama picked out Rockbridge clothes as birthday and Christmas presents from Nanaw. Chase only picked out one thing, a Rockbridge hoodie tee shirt. Nanaw bought herself another fishing shirt, a stuffed deer and a baby stuffed deer. Chase had fallen in love with them but Mama wouldn't let him get them so Nanaw ought them to stay at her house. They left about 11 a.m. and were sad to leave. They caught 30 fish, and they're hoping that Rockbridge stays open and isn't sold or anything.
