Mama called Nanaw first thing in the morning on Wednesday to tell her that Chase was sick during the night and wouldn't be going to school. Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house, and when he got there, he just wanted to lie on the couch. Nanaw had opened up his futon and put a sheet and comforter on it but he didn't want to go lie on it. He fell asleep on the couch and slept till about 9 o'clock. Nanaw had an appointment to get her teeth cleaned so she dropped Chase off with Mama who was working at home while she went to the dentist's office. While they were getting in the car, Chase asked what day it was, and Nanaw told him it was Wednesday but he wasn't going to school because he was sick. Nanaw told him his friends at school missed him and asked him if he missed his friends, and he said no because it made him happy to be with Nanaw. Nanaw almost cried when she heard that. When Nanaw picked Chase up, Mama sent along a cheese, sausage and crackers lunchable for him, along with his Kindle Fire tablet, his LeapPad tablet (which is going to live at Nanaw's house from now on and several of his stuffed animal friends, plus his hockey stick and the hockey puck little Will got at the game last night to give to Chase. Before his night-night nap, creative little Chase made up an activity for him and Nanaw. He brought Nanaw a piece of paper, a scissors and a hole punch. He told her to cut out tickets for their Polar Express trip to the North Pole. Once Nanaw cut out the tickets, Chase used the hole punch on them -- he made tickets for Chase, Nanaw, Tee Tee, Jack Skellington and Chase Box Turtle. Such a interesting little boy.
