Nanaw went with Chase, Mama and Daddy for the Open House at Chase's school. His first grade teacher is Mrs. Neff, and her classroom is right next door to the pre-school classroom. Eleven of the boys and girls in Chase's class (including Chase) are from Mrs. Herrmann's kindergarten class. The three children at his table (Brady, Emmalynn and Evelyn) were in Mrs. Murphy's class last year. Mama and Daddy sorted out Chase's school supplies (that Mama bought online from a special arrangement for ICS). Nanaw put labels on Chase's supplies. His classroom is very cool and has lots of books; there's one box full of dog books, which Mama really liked but there wasn't a Biscuit book in the box. But Chase found a Biscuit book in another box. He also found a box full of his favorite: Dr. Seuss. Mrs. Neff overheard that and said that Dr.Seuss was her favorite too. They visited Chase's locker -- it's the first one at the end of the hall so there's extra room to move around -- much better than last year's crowded area. Chase went grocery shopping with Mama, and she said he was extremely good. She also said he was extremely good the whole weekend. Mama sent Nanaw the link from mrs. Neff explaining about how the class and homework work -- it was interesting and helpful. The boys and girls are supposed to take two healthy snacks each day, rather than having the students provide snacks for the whole class.
