Mama had the day off from work on Friday so she took Chase to school in the morning. Nanaw missed seeing her buddy. Mama and Nanaw went Christmas shopping again but only for half a day today. Nanaw got to pick Chase up from school and keep him until it was time to go home. She took him to the doctor's office to get a flu shot at 4 o'clock. The nurse was really great with him, saying, "You've got this buddy." She had him turn away from looking at the shot and had him hold Nanaw's hands and look at her. He was very brave and said it didn't hurt, that he just felt a poke. Nanaw was very proud. When they got home, somehow Chase was looking at his eyes in the mirror, and he decided that he eyes had now turned green. He looked at Nanaw's eyes and said her eyes had turned blue. Then awhile later, he decided they'd each returned to their normal color. It was very funny, and when Nanaw looked at both their eyes, she thought she saw what he was talking about. In the evening, Jackson and Aunt Jen and Uncle Joe came over to celebrate Chase's birthday and Christmas. They also brought their dogs, Dolly and Mello. Sam Nanaw played with the boys in Chase's room. Chase had all his Dog Man books on his bed and first. They played library with them, then they had story time with Chase and Jackson reading from the books. They had Papa Murphy's pizza, toasted ravioli and cheese garlic bread. Nanaw had a salad. Jackson got a super battle game from Mama, Daddy and Chase. Chase got a Lego car, a soggy dog game and a bug in the kitchen game. He also got a red, white and blue mask thing -- very cool. After dinner, the boys and Nanaw went downstairs so the boys could play with Daddy's guitars. They sang lots of songs and were so cute. Then they had "the parents," as they called them, come down for a concert. They sang "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and did an excellent job.
