Everyone woke up to 8 or 9 inches of snow on Saturday morning. Chase's soccer game was cancelled, and he and Daddy played out in the snow for a long time. They built a wonderful snowman; Mama build a cute little dog snowman. Nanaw thought he was smoking a cigar but Mama said that was his nose. Mama and Daddy brought Chase and Sam over to Nanaw's house at 3:30 for their sleepover. Daddy shoveled Nanaw's driveway, and Mama shoveled the sidewalk. Mama and Daddy were going to Mama's 50th birthday party at Aunt Becca's house. Unfortunately, some people couldn't make it because of the snow but Mama said it was a wonderful party even with a reduced guest list. Mama sent Nanaw a picture of the Sam cookies that cousin Nichole made for the party. Uncle Mike had to work at UMSL doing snow removal so he couldn't come. He and cousin Joe worked a 45 hour shift. Cousin Joe was excited to do major snow removal but Uncle Mike doesn't get excited about it anymore. At Nanaw's house, Nanaw and Chase played out in the snow for awhile. It was great fun. Nanaw built a fire, and they had dinner with the fire and candlelight. Sam followed Nanaw around wherever she went, hoping for lunch meat and other treats. Chase and Nanaw slept on the king-sized bed in Pawpaw's room. Chase fell asleep 30 seconds after his head hit the pillow -- so cute.
