Chase’s major adventure today took place at Uncle Mike’s house at cousin Joe’s high school graduation party. Chase spent almost five hours running around Uncle Mike’s huge backyard. In addition to running around the yard, Chase went swimming in Uncle Mike’s pool with Mama, in his floating police car. He rolled around on the hammock and sat in the swing with Nichole and with Nanaw. He petted and played with Aunt Becky’s dog Rascal, who was tied up at the end of the yard. He played in the dirt in the corner of the yard, digging in the dirt with his hands and seeming to enjoy it immensely. He spent a lot of time walking around the swimming pool in the pathway that surrounds the pool and playing with the rocks there. He played with the pinwheels in Uncle Mike’s gardens, spinning them around and around. Almost the whole time, Chase was running around the yard, Sam was right there with him, as if he was guarding Chase and keeping him safe – it was very sweet to watch. Chase definitely didn’t want to stop playing outside and cried when Mama took inside to put on his pajamas and then put him in the car seat to go home. He finally stopped crying when he started playing with his chain saw that makes lots of noise. Amazingly enough, he stayed awake all the way home despite his intense day of play.
