Today’s big adventure for Chase was Mama and Daddy’s annual Labor Day party (a day early, maybe). The party started at 1 and Chase started running around the back yard then, even though it was wickedly hot outside. Nanaw came to the party later and played with Chase in the back yard, chasing him, pulling him in the wagon, putting him in his swing, sending him down the slide and playing ball. For awhile, they went inside and played in Chase’s room so he could cool off, then it was back outside again. Later, Nanaw helped Daddy give Chase a bath, then it was off to bed. Unfortunately, Nanaw made the bad decision of going into Chase’s room to see if he’d fallen asleep yet. He hadn’t, and he started crying loudly – but eventually he fell asleep after a long, active day.
