On their early morning walk, Chase and Nanaw saw a deer. Chase seemed fascinated with the deer and stared at it until it ran away. After breakfast, Chase and Nanaw went to the Columbia library for the Babygarten program. Once again, Chase paid attention to the songs and stories and didn’t need to be distracted with the toys and books in his Elmo backpack. He seemed to enjoy the music Miss Annette played on the CD, especially "The Wheels on the Bus." He played with the bead toy and with the spoons and cried when it was time to give up the spoon and leave. After Babygarten, Chase and Nanaw walked around the park next door to the library, then Chase played on the playground. There were several other children there: James from Babygarten, Julia and Charley. Charley came running up to Chase and gave him a hug—it was very cute. After his nap, Chase had "school.’ He played with the keyboard, chewed on crayons, threw the flash cards around and carried the foam and magnetic alphabet letters around the room. Mama fixed mostacciolli for dinner, and Chase ate lots and had both of his grandmothers there. After dinner, Daddy took Grandma Pat back home to Wentzville, and Chase, Mama, Sam and Nanaw went for a walk in Chase’s neighborhood.
