Chase was happy to go to school on Monday, although at first he said he wanted to go to the Train House. Nanaw explained to him that the Train House is closed on Mondays but that they were going to visit the Train House on Friday with Mama. Nanaw let time get away from her before school, and she and Chase had to rush to his house to get his shoes (Mama forgot them). Fortunately, they made it on time. Nanaw parked on the side street by school so that saved a couple of minutes. Then Nanaw forgot to take in the envelope with money from Mama contributing to the Christmas gift for Chase's teacher Ms. Merz. So Nanaw hurried back to the car for the envelope -- she was glad she was parked in a closer place. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to Chase's house to let Sam out and then Walmart to get some pictures of Chase with Santa made -- for Nanaw to send with her Christmas cards. They also looked at the Christmas trees, at Chase's request. Unfortunately, the singing Santa has disappeared because he was broken. When Chase and Nanaw got home, Chase did the cutest thing -- he made what he called a car spaceship (he strung the cars from City Skyway into a line on the pile of wood on Nanaw's hearth. Then he took the three firststarters and turned them around so their barrels pointed outward, and he called them his spaceship guns. Close to the car spaceship, he set up his DVD player so he could watch Wall-E. The little fella has quite the imagination. Nanaw promised they could play with his car spaceship on Tuesday morning when he comes back to Nanaw's house.
