Chase and Nanaw had a really busy day on Thursday. First, they went to Story Time at the Columbia Library with Miss Candy. Chase was really well-behaved during the program, and Nanaw was so happy about that. The craft was a picture of a little boy in the snow. The children got to use an empty thread spool and white paint to make the snowflakes. Chase loved doing the paint and using the glue sticks. Next, Chase and Nanaw went to Story Time at the Telegraph Road library with Miss Kim. the craft was coloring pictures of squirrels. Coincidentally, Nanaw found two acorns in her coat pocket from a previous visit to Powder Valley. Next, they went to the Train House to see the train displays. Two exciting things happened while they were there. First, Miss Lynn (the front desk worker) took Chase behind the Macy's train display so Chase could see all the controls. Then, David (one of the train volunteers) took Chase behind the huge train display and showed him all the controls and trains stacked up there. Chase didn't want to come out. When chase and Nanaw got home, Uncle Mike was there putting up Nanaw's outdoor Christmas decorations. Chase wanted to "help" but Nanaw put him to bed for a nap. However, he was too excited to go to sleep and after an hour, Nanaw let him get up and go outside to "help" Uncle Mike. He got out his box of tools and pretended like he was working on the decorations -- It was very cute.
