Thursday was Nanaw’s day to work with the reading groups in Chase’s class. And as usual, it was great fun for Nanaw. The reading paper was about spring flowers. Then they had a book to read: The Lemonade Stand. It was a good book for them, with good questions at the end. The boys and girls were really wound up and excited about the field trip the next day. It was also picture day so they were excited about that. It was a rainy day, and the classes had indoor recess for all three recesses. Chase liked it because he got to play with the iPad. He requested another game app when he got home: Hop Ball. The Cardinals rescheduled the home opener to Friday because of the rain but Mama still had Uncle Mike come over for food and to spend the night. They went to Washy’s, and Mama bought White Castles, then came home to make smokies in crescent rolls and lots of dips. Uncle Mike grilled Italian sausage and hot dogs. After everybody ate, everyone went downstairs. Chase and Uncle Mike played hockey, and Chase had a wonderful time. Nanaw forgot to take pictures of Chase so she used his school picture from last fall; he wore the same red shirt then that he wore for Thursday’s picture day. Uncle Mike showed Nanaw a picture of Joe at work; so Nanaw emailed it to herself. It’s the last photo below. Nanaw thinks Chase looks a little like his cousin Joe.
