Chase had a Mother's Day celebration at his house on Sunday morning for Grandma Pat. Uncle George and his family and Aunt Nona and cousin Wesley. They had Krispy Kreme donuts and a fruit tray. Chase and Daddy got Mama a Matt Carpenter jersey and adopted a flamingo from the zoo for her; she got a stuffed flamingo named Fred that Chase said he would share with her. Chase, Mama and Daddy came over to Nanaw's house for Mother's Day dinner. Chase brought Fred, and Nanaw thinks he's really cute. For dinner, they had lasagna and roast beef. Dessert was delicious strawberry cake and gooey butter cake from Nichole; Mama brought chocolate chip cookies and Nanaw made gluten-free brownies. Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky planted Nanaw's garden for her Mother's Day present -- tomatoes, cucumbers and lots of flowers. In addition to the beautiful blue hydrangea, Mama, Chase and Daddy gave Nanaw a Honeysuckle Clementine candle and gift certificate to Office Max (yay!). Later in the evening, Mama and Uncle Mike let Nanaw know that the west-bound Jefferson Barracks Bridge is closed so Nanaw will have to take the Poplar Street Bridge to visit the cemetery.
