Today was Chase's last day of first grade. He took a present to Mrs. Neff, and she gave him a hug. Then she let Nanaw take a picture of the two of them -- it was very cute. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she cried a bit about the end of the school year, just like she did after pre-school, pre-K and Kindergarten. The good news is there's always next year. Chase brought home his chair pack and his pencil box, and Nanaw put them downstairs in the school room for Chase and Nanaw to use when they play school. Later in the afternoon, Chase and Nanaw went to Powder Valley and had a great time. They did the scavenger hunt, and Chase visited all his favorite displays. In the evening, Mama, Daddy, Chase and Nanaw went to Steak n Shake for dinner. It's a new tradition that Mama started. Chase wanted to sit next to Mama, and he snuggled up to her. They had fun doing the puzzles on Chase's place mat. Chase had a milkshake and so did Mama and Daddy. Mama shared hers with Nanaw.
