On Monday morning, Mama texted Nanaw to tell her that Chase was staying home from school today because he had a cough and an earache and was congested. Nanaw told Mama to bring him over; she said she would when she finished walking the dogs. Mama made a doctor's appointment for Chase at 9:50. When Chase and Nanaw got there, they parked under the awning and one of the nurses came out and gave Chase a Covid test. Nanaw parked in a regular parking space, and they waited about 20 minutes for the results of the test. It was negative so they had Chase and Nanaw come inside. Chase saw a Doctor Smith instead of his regular doctor, who was out of the office. Chase weighs 79.6 pounds. Dr. Smith said Chase had an ear infection in his left ear, and she prescribed amoxicillin. She also gave him a note for school saying he was okay to come back to school. (But in the evening, Mama told Nanaw that Chase had been coughing a lot and would stay home from school again if he was still coughing a lot in the morning. Chase and Nanaw had a wonderful day together, playing solitaire and taking a nap and having lunch. Later in the day, Nanaw brought a lot of Chase's toys into her room, and they watched the Cars 3 movie and had a lot of fun. Chase told Nanaw that it was his best day ever.
