On Monday morning, it was raining before Chase went to school. Nanaw asked him if his umbrella was still in his backpack. He said he thought so, and Nanaw found it in there and got it out for him to use when he got to school. Nanaw later found out that Mama had just put it back in the backpack this morning when she saw the rain. She had taken it out because there hadn't been rain for a long time. It had stopped raining by the time they got to school so Chase put the umbrella back in the backpack. Nanaw let him out right by the front door of school and he liked that. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, she told him what homework was listed on Homework Central but he said none of it was due tomorrow so he'd do it tomorrow after school and before hockey. Nanaw forgot to ask him about the Ohio State tests so she'll ask him tomorrow morning. She's interested in hearing about a new test they're going to give the kids. It's Cognitive something, and it tests how the kids think and reason. Very cool sounding. In the computer lab, Nanaw watched the movie Miracle about the Olympic hockey team that Chase had watched with Daddy. Chase watched a bit of it and gave Nanaw some explanations of hockey terms and activities. Nanaw tried to have dinner with Pawpaw in the cemetery for his 85th birthday but it was raining so she had to eat in the car. She was excited to find out that the gate to her shortcut to the cemetery through the VA hospital grounds is now open again.
