Kansas City Adventure -- August 6 - 8, 2015

On Thursday morning, Mama, Daddy, Chase, Sam and Nanaw drove to Kansas City for an adventure. Chase was such a good little traveler. He watched DVDs with great enjoyment -- Monster University and Despicable Me. They stayed at the Drury Inn in Overland Park, Kansas -- beautiful hotel and beautiful town. Their first adventure was to go to Lego Land at Crown Center in Kansas City. Chase was absolutely delighted with Lego Land and had a wonderful time. He loved playing with the Legos, and his favorite part was the Star Wars area and his great friends R2D2 and CP30. He especially loved the climbing area where he could run up and down stairs and go down slides. Chase didn't want to come out and Daddy had to go inside to retrieve him. In the evening, they tried to go to a special BBQ restaurant (Jack Stack) but the wait time was too long so they went to Applebee's (Nanaw had riblets so at least she had her BBQ.) Friday morning's adventure was to go to the Kansas City Zoo. It's smaller than the St. Louis Zoo but that was a plus because it was easy to get around to see the animals. They all liked the zoo a lot. Chase got to feed the sheep and play on a playground. Lunch was another exciting adventure; they went to Fritz's at Crown Center, where the food is delivered by trains that run along a track close to the ceiling. Chase got an engineer hat and loved the trains. Nanaw took him on a tour of the restaurant so he could see all the train displays. In the afternoon, they went to Sea Life, an aquatic and aquarium display located right next to Lego Land at Crown Center. Chase liked the fishies and all the displays but not as much as he liked Lego Land. Sea Life also had one of the climbing areas at the end and once again, Chase didn't want to come out. But he made the mistake of accidentally coming out the opening, and Nanaw grabbed him before he could go back in -- Yay, Nanaw! For dinner, they had carry out BBQ from Jack Stack and ate in Mama and Daddy's suite. Sam got lots of BBQ and was excited that they were eating in the room so that he got some of the foot. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went swimming in the outdoor pool and the indoor pool. They also got into the whirlpool for awhile, but Chase didn't like that much -- he thought it was too warm. Saturday morning they drove back to St. Louis, and once again Chase was a great little traveler. He watched a new Minion DVD Mama bought for him, and the fell asleep. He slept for a couple of hours during the drive home. All in all it was a wonderful adventure, and everyone had a marvelous time -- so much so that they plan to go back, especially to Lego Land for Chase.
