Sunday was a day of a major adventure for Chase, Daddy, Mama and Nanaw. Daddy's employer had a special day for employees at the St. Louis Zoo. Chase, Daddy, Mama and Nanaw arrived at the zoo around 11 a.m. Daddy went to stand in line to get registered and get tickets for lunch and the rides. Everyone rode on the merry go round, and for the first time ever, Chase rode on one of the animals -- a big brown bear. Usually, Chase insists on sitting on one of the benches on the merry go round. But his time he agreed to ride on an animal. Mama, Daddy and Nanaw were happy about that. For lunch, Chase and Nanaw had chicken strips and Mama and Daddy had hamburgers -- everyone had French fries. Some of the animals they visited included the penguins, the puffins, the polar bear, and the birds. They waited in line for a long while to ride the train but finally had to give up because the train was so crowded. Miraculously, Chase was all right with that. On the way out of the zoo, they bought two big bags of kettle corn -- to Nanaw's great delight. Nanaw came for dinner -- steak and corn on the cob -- and then went for a walk with Mama, Daddy, Chase and Sam.
