Chase spent Monday mostly at home. It was a gray, rainy day so they found fun things to do. Mama sent Chase's Stinky Fish shirt to Nanaw to get out a stain from Saturday's zoo face painting -- and miracle of miracles, Nanaw was able to get the stain out. Nanaw brought Chase's alphabet letters, and table and chair upstairs so he could play his new game of making words. He played on the table with the letters in his room. Then he took the magnetic alphabet letters into the kitchen and played with Nanaw, putting the letters on the fridge and spelling real words and made-up words. They had lots of fun. Around noon, they went to Dollar Tree to try to buy some more magnetic letters but Dollar Tree didn't have any so they got a plastic alphabet puzzle that's very cool, plus some launching chickens, a little blue Corvette, and from the vending machine, Bones candy and a duck. When Nanaw took Chase home, she stayed for a delicious dinner of bacon wraps; Mama bought gluten-free wraps for Nanaw. After dinner, Chase had homework to do for school. He had to decorate binoculars that Daddy made out of two empty toilet paper holders and a shoe string. Daddy colored the tubes with markers, then Chase put stickers all over them -- it was very cute. Then Chase put his alphabet letters on the kitchen floor and began making words. He made the word Pop by himself and told Mama and Nanaw what it said -- very impressive!
