Monday, June 11, 2018

First thing Monday morning, Chase watched the Kuddly Kittens video and had a great time with it. Monday was the first day of Safety Town, a weeklong camp put on by the Columbia police and fire departments. Chase was really looking forward to it before it started. Then after his first day, he wanted to go back right away. He absolutely loved it. At the beginning of the first session, the presenters explained to parents and grandparents what the boys and girls will be doing during the week. Some of the things they're going to be learning include: pedestrian safety, stranger danger, fire safety, tornado and storm safety, electricity safety, water safety and lots more. Chase was very excited about all he did on Monday and was really looking forward to going back on Tuesday. He was in the blue group with Brady, Jackson, Alaina, Emmalin and Drew. Henry was in a different group. Chase and Nanaw saw Riley, a friend from Laptime at the Columbia Library. They invited parents and grandparents to come back at 11:20 a.m. to watch Officer Zach demonstrate his police dog Daggo. Nanaw had a great time watching them and taking photos and videos. Mama was very jealous and wished she could have seen Daggo. His commands are in German, which is very interesting.
