Chase had lots of adventures on Thursday, to make up for having such a quiet day yesterday. First, Chase and Nanaw went to Powder Valley, where they were given two red bud trees. Chase was very excited about getting the trees. He did his usual Powder Valley things -- visiting the turtles, the fish and all the displays. Next, Chase and Nanaw went to theTelegraph Road library for Story Time with Miss Kim. The books and songs were about birds and chickens, and Chase seemed to enjoy them. He was really good and didn't run around -- Nanaw thinks he had a good time. After the stories and songs, it was time for crafts. The craft was a bird that you colored and then cut out and pasted it on a piece of paper. Then you glued eyes on the bird. Chase glued on 11 eyes (Mama counted them when Chase brought his craft home to her). Miss Kim liked all the eyes. Next, Chase and Nanaw went to Walmart, and Nanaw managed to get away with only buying Chase some "Bones" from the candy vending machine. When Chase and Nanaw got home, they planted the red bud trees in the front yard. Chase was very excited to take his "shovel" (actually a trowel) and "bucket" (actually a Happy Meal tub from McDonald's outside to help Nanaw plant the trees. Nanaw promised they would check the trees each day to see if they were growing leaves yet. Next Tuesday, Chase and Nanaw are going to have an exciting new adventure. One of Nanaw's friends, Miss Peggy, suggested that they go to Tuesday Tails, a story with puppies program, at the Animal Protective Association. It's for children ages 2 to 5; they listen to stories and play with puppies. Chase is going to love it!
