Sunday, November 30, 2014

Chase had two adventures with Nanaw today: Going to Sunday School at Nanaw’s church and going to the playground in the park next to the Columbia Library. Mama and Daddy went to the Rams game¸ and they dropped Chase at Nanaw’s house at 8:30 a.m. Chase decided to use his new vacuum, and then Nanaw let him use her real battery vacuum, and he seemed to have a grand time. At Sunday School, Chase met a little girl named Ellie who’s the same age as he is. They played together the whole time, and it was really cute to watch. The Sunday School room has a cool kitchen, and Chase seemed to have a lot of fun playing with the kitchen. He also played with the dinosaurs and got Little Debbie treats. After lunch, Chase and Nanaw went to the playground. There was a little boy and a little girl there, and Chase ran around after them – he really seems to love other children.

Saturday, November 29, 2014

On Saturday, Chase went on a shopping adventure with Mama and Nanaw. They went to the Bass Pro Shop in St. Charles to buy a fly rod for Daddy’s Christmas present. Bass Pro had a large Christmas area set up for children. There was a train in a snow scene, a remote control monster truck, a huge Christmas tree, and remoted control racing cars. Chase had a great time either doing or looking at all the activities. Then Mama took Chase and Nanaw to the fish aquarium, which seemed to delight Chase. When they left Bass Pro, Mama bought Chase a big bag of kettle corn, which he loves. Next, they went to Gordman’s, where Mama bought a tree topper for the Christmas tree and a shark attack Thomas toy for Chase. Nanaw bought Chase a Thomas puzzle. Mama also bought Chase a purple Charlie train.

Happy Day After Thanksgiving, Friday, November 28, 2014

Today, Chase and Nanaw went to Chase’s favorite place: the Museum of Transportation, aka according to Chase, the Train House. The Christmas trains were introduced today, and Chase seemed absolutely fascinated with them. He looked at them before going into the Thomas tables room and then again afterward. He played a lot with the wooden blocks, building all kinds of structures. Chase and Nanaw spent about an hour and a half looking at all the train displays, with Chase running back and forth between the displays. After Chase’s nap, he was excited to see Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky who were putting up the Christmas lights at Nanaw’s house. He went outside to look at them and didn’t want to leave with Mama and Daddy. They were going to Jackson’s house to see his Christmas lights. Mama says Chase had a really good time playing with Jackson.

Happy Thanksgiving! Thursday, November 27, 2014

Mama said Chase continued to be delighted with his Christmas tree and kept going into his room last night and Thanksgiving morning to see it lit up. For Thanksgiving breakfast, Chase had cherry turnovers, something that Mama used to have for Thanksgiving breakfast when she was a little girl. In the afternoon, Chase, Mama and Daddy went to Daddy’s cousin Leah’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. Then, in the evening, they came to Nanaw’s house for another Thanksgiving dinner. Nanaw bought two $5 toys at Walgreens for Chase: a vacuum and a wooden train set. He seemed delighted with them and played with them all evening. There were 15 for dinner, and everything turned out wonderfully. Once again, everyone played with Chase’s trains on the dining room table, just like on Uncle Mike’s birthday.

Wednesday, November 26, 2014

Chase still has his cold, with a cough and runny nose, so there were no adventures – although on their way home to Nanaw’s house first thing in the morning, they went to the drive-up functions of the post office and library, and to the cemetery and the gas station where Chase could stay in the car. Chase and Nanaw had a craft project today, making place cards for Thanksgiving dinner. Chase drew circles on the cards and put stickers on them, while Nanaw wrote everyone’s names – 15 people are coming. Next, Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to play trains. Chase also watched Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood on the computer – he missed it on TV this morning because of running errands. Nanaw is going to look for a Daniel Tiger toy for Chase because he seems to like Daniel so much. While they were downstairs, it started to snow. When they went upstairs, Chase put on his Thomas hat and said he wanted to go outside and play in the snow. But Nanaw had to say no because of his cold and because there wasn’t any snow accumulation yet. When Nanaw took Chase home, Mama told him she had a surprise for him in his room – it was his very own Christmas tree with Chase’s ornaments and Chase seemed very excited about it, especially about the Thomas ornament and the Thomas train under the tree.

Chase still has his cold, with a cough and runny nose so once again they didn’t go on any adventures. When Mama dropped Chase off, he was wearing his little old man Thomas jammies with the shirt that has buttons – extremely cute. After story time, with stuffed Percy and Thomas books, Nanaw tried to get Chase dressed in his Angry Birds shirt but Chase refused to let Nanaw take off his Thomas jammies. He kept saying, "They’re so cute, they’re so cute." Mama said he said that a lot the night before when Mama put them on Chase. So much to Mama’s dismay, Nanaw let Chase wear his Thomas jammies all day.
