Today was red, white and blue dress code for Catholic Schools Week. Chase wore his red, white and blue hockey jersey with his name and number (95) on the back. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he told her had good news. He said Joey from his class had won the school spelling bee -- a sixth grader won for the whole school. Chase says Joey is his best friend. Joey is the grandson of the previous principal of ICS, who was principal for 50 years. Then Chase said he had bad news. He thinks he left his water bottle in his math teacher's room. He was very happy to not have any homework again. He brought his math assignment home for Nanaw to look at, which is exactly what Mama and Nanaw want him to do. He had his snack and played on the computer and on his phone. Nanaw had to have him home by 4 p.m. because he had hockey practice. Mama was going to take him; she and Daddy take turns taking him to his practices. Both of them go to all his games with him. Tomorrow is the book fair at school, and Mama set up an E-Wallet for him with $35 in it to spend on books. Nanaw told him to buy Gordon Korman books, especially the new one, Slugfest, that they started reading but didn't finish.
