Chase and Nanaw were both excited that it was Wednesday; that meant that Nanaw was coming to volunteer in Chase's class. Nanaw's assignment was to work with the groups on making flags for Veterans' Day. They had blue pieces of paper on which they put 50 dabs of paint, five rows of 10 dabs each. The boys and girls did a really good job with the numbers. Once a group was finished with their flag project, they worked on the pattern blocks. They also did a really good job with the blocks. Then came the excitement. Mrs. Hermann announced that they were going outside to have a parade with musical instruments. First, they'd have the parade and play their musical instruments. Then they'd eat the cupcakes for Andrew's birthday outside, then they'd have recess. Nanaw went along on the parade and had a wonderful time. They walked all the way around the school and on the Main Street sidewalk. It was great and Nanaw was excited to go along. After school, Chase played in his room and set up a barricade in the corner for his stuffed amamals to protect them from an oncoming hurricane. It was absolutely precious.
