Rockbridge: Friday, November 4, 2022 - Sunday, November 6, 2022

Friday was the beginning of the family's annual trip to Rockbridge. Everybody was excited and happy about the next three days. They stopped in Rolla at Panera's. Panera's had put in a new self-ordering system -- an order entry computer where customers choose what they want. At first, nobody knew that was the new way to order but Aunt Becky figured it out. When they got to Rockbridge, they found that they didn't have the adjoining rooms they'd reserved last year. Someone else had been given one of the adjoining rooms. Nobody was happy about that. The best and most exciting thing about the fishing trip was that Chase went fishing each day -- and a couple of times on Saturday. He didn't catch anything but he said he had a bite and was doing good casting. Daddy agreed about the good casting. Mama had a good time going to the grist mill. Nanaw couldn't walk up the hill to the room so they rented a golf cart on Saturday, and the rest of the time Daddy chauffeured Nanaw to the lodge so she didn't have to walk up the hill. Chase and Mama had a disagreement Saturday night about Chase getting ice cream in addition to having dessert. But they worked things out on Sunday, and Chase got ice cream in the morning. Also Nanaw bought Chase a hedgehog named Harry that's going to live at Nanaw's house. They took along a picture of nephew/cousin Dan and included it in pictures with trout Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky caught. It was a wonderful trip, as always. Mama, Uncle Mike and Nanaw wish they won the $2 billion Powerball so they could buy Rockbridge and live there. The seventh photo is Chase fishing in the "meat hole" in his waders. The second to last picture is a Facebook memory photo of Chase at Rockbridge from several years ago. The last photo is of Chase with Harry, the new hedgehog.
