Mama had the day off on Friday so she took Chase to school. Uncle Mike spent the night at her house so when she returned home after dropping off Chase, she made biscuit donuts for them, like Nanaw used to make for them when they were little. This time, she made glazed. Sometimes she puts powdered sugar on them and sometimes cinnamon and sugar. She said they were yummy. When Nanaw picked Chase up, he told her he got 18 out of 20 with extra credit on his religion test and 21 out of 22 on the science test (a miracle considering what went down yesterday). At Nanaw's house, Nanaw told Chase she wanted to have a talk with him. They sat on the sofa, and Nanaw told Chase she knew why he was so upset and scared yesterday about going back in school. She said she thought it was because Chase was afraid of what the teacher would say or do about him coming back into the classroom to get something he forgot. Chase told Nanaw that was right. So Nanaw told him she wouldn’t try to make him go back inside the rest of this year when he forgets things. He told Nanaw he wasn't looking forward to his class's field trip on Monday to Boeing and the World Bird Sanctuary because of who had been assigned as his partner. Nanaw said not to let the boy bother him and not to be upset. Friday night Chase had his first team hockey practice, and Mama says he said it was good.
