When Chase got to Nanaw’s house Thursday morning, he headed straight for the Freddy figures. He started putting them together, and Nanaw had to negotiate with him to have him eat his breakfast and get dressed. But all of it managed to get done. His class is going to Gibault, the Catholic high school in Waterloo, Thursday morning, to watch the Wizard of Oz play they’re putting on. Mama told Chase that Nanaw would tell him the story of the Wizard of Oz, so Nanaw did. Of course, Chase’s favorite part was the witch getting killed by the house falling on her. Even though Nanaw reminded Chase to remember to bring home his science book and science review worksheet so they could study for Friday’s science test when he got out of the car in the morning, he forgot them. Nanaw tried to get him to go back in to his classroom but he absolutely refused and caused a scene. So Nanaw gave up and they left. Nanaw asked what Chase thought about the Wizard of Oz play, and he said he liked the dog Toto but that plays weren't his thing, and he thought it was boring. After they finished studying science, they went to Chase’s house to watch the end of the Cardinals’ home opener baseball game. Chase was looking forward to seeing Uncle Mike.
