When Nanaw picked Chase up from school on Friday afternoon, it was unbearably hot outside. Fortunately, the weather forecast said the weather would cool off on Saturday. Nanaw had her phone out with Homework Central so they could make sure Chase brought home everything he needed for homework over the weekend. He brought home math for Nanaw to check, the background material for the upcoming Science Fair assignment (Chase told Nanaw he'd picked his topic and told her what it was but she can't remember it so she'll have to ask him again), and the preposition worksheet for correcting. At Nanaw's house, Nanaw went through his math as much as possible. The teacher has given students a new way of doing math assignments. Instead of a math book in which you worked on the assignments, now the students copy the problems from the math textbook into their spiral-bound notebooks and work on them there. Then for some of the assignments, they go over the problems in class but don't turn the papers in. Chase's writing was so illegible that Nanaw couldn't read most of it. For the first half of the assignment, he had circled his answers but the second half was hopeless. Nanaw told Chase they would work on it when she came to visit him on Saturday. They would also work on correcting his preposition worksheet. For dinner, Mama, Daddy and Chase had Domino's for dinner. They had lava cakes for dessert, and Chase really liked the little chocolate cakes. The pictures below show Chase and Mama with Ronnie the Raccoon, one of Mama's stuffed animals from when she was a little girl that Nanaw found downstairs. Nanaw is going to look for Ricky, a gray raccoon.
