Well, the boy broke his wrist this afternoon at one of his hockey evaluations. Poor boy. He was out skating on the ice, and he swerved to avoid another player and Chase ran into the wall. At first, Daddy was afraid he'd hit his head really hard but it was his wrist. Daddy took Chase to Urgent Care on Tesson Ferry because they have an X-ray machine. Daddy called Mama at Columbia Days in the little park, and Mama left to meet them at Urgent Care. They were hoping that his wrist was just sprained but the X-ray showed that it was broken. The doctor put an elastic bandage on Chase's arm, from his elbow down to his fingers. They also gave Chase a sling to wear so that he doesn't accidentally hit his wrist against something. On Monday, Mama is going to get the name and phone number of an orthopedist so she can set up an appointment for Chase to get a cast put on his wrist. The Urgent Care doctor said Chase would probably have the cast on for about six weeks. They'd have to wait to see what the orthopedist said about when Chase could go back to playing sports. Soccer and fall baseball will be over when the cast comes off, and they'll have to wait to hear about playing hockey.
