Chase had a pitching lesson on Sunday morning at 9:30 so he and Daddy went to the 11 o'clock mass rather than their regular one at 9 a.m. Nanaw came to visit in the afternoon, and she and Chase worked on his homework at the kitchen table. He had a study guide to complete for religion. While Chase worked on the study guide, Nanaw worked on math; Chase had all the correct answers. Then they worked on brainstorming what pictures he would draw for his War Stories book report. He has to draw three pictures, one for the beginning of the book, one for the middle and one for the end. For the first photo, Chase decided he would draw a khaki duffel bag Jacob Firestone had kept all these years with the message "Fort Benning or Bust" written on it, indicating what Jacob had used when he joined at Army at age 17 and which he was going to take for his return trip to France. The second picture would be of Juliette and Philippe, the teenagers following them around France. And the third picture would be of the Croix de Guerre, the French medal Jacob was given for his heroism in Sainte Regine. After they finished the homework, Chase and Nanaw went outside, where Nanaw watched Chase batting sticks around and then practicing fly balls with Daddy.
