When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he said he thought he did okay on today's math test. Chase told Nanaw that in computer class they're learning the keyboard and how to type. Chase said he didn't understand why there is a QWERTY keyboard instead of the keys being in alphabetical order. Nanaw said she would look it up. She texted Chase with what she found: "The QWERTY layout was designed to prevent the keys on a typewriter from getting stuck when typing fast. The letters on the keyboard were arranged in a way that kept the most commonly used keys apart from each other, so that they would not get jammed together." At Nanaw's house, they studied for his two Friday tests -- DLR and vocabulary. He studied for the DLR test on his own. Then Nanaw went over the vocabulary words with him. First, they did it the easy way with Nanaw giving him the definitions and Chase giving the word. Then they did it the hard way with Nanaw giving Chase the word and Chase giving Nanaw the definition. He didn't do as well as he usually does so Nanaw will go over them again on Friday morning. They watched the Cardinals home opener with the TV muted. When Chase was finished studying, they went to his house to watch the baseball game with Uncle Mike, Mama and Daddy. The Cardinals won 8 to 5 but they're still in last place at 500. Chase had hockey practice at 6:30.
