Monday was Casimir Pulaski Day, a holiday in Illinois. Chase had the day off from school, and Mama took the day off from work so she could have an adventure day with Chase and Nanaw. They did a gazillion things. First they went to the bank, then the gas station, then the library. They played the new March scavenger hunt about Women's History Month. Chase got a Helen Keller bookmark for the scavenger hunt; Nanaw plans to give it to Sami tomorrow because she was Helen Keller for the biography program. After the library, they went to Walmart. Then they went to Shoe Carnival where Mama bought Chase a new pair of shoes and a pair of sandals for the beach. Chase played basketball, and Nanaw took a picture of him in a blue and white hat. Next was Costco, and then lunch at Arby's. After lunch, they went Yankee Candle at the mall and Mama bought two candles for Nanaw for her birthday: a vanilla cupcake candle and a balsam cedar candle. Then they took everything home. The next stop was at Chase's request. They went to the big park, intending to play hockey in the special place with hockey nets. Unfortunately, some boys were there playing hockey on roller blades so Chase went over to the playground and did ninja things. Then he decided they would go to the basketball court. They played hockey for awhile and had lots of fun. Then they went home. Nanaw stayed for a few minutes while Mama walked the dogs, then she went home.
