On Saturday morning, Mama brought Chase over to Nanaw's house while she went to the grocery store. Yesterday when Mama was at Nanaw's house she said she wanted Chase to spend more time doing things like playing non-computer games and other activities rather than spending all his time on the laptop. So when Chase got to Nanaw's house, they sat on the couch with Chase's stuffed animals and read a page in the Answers book. Chase only wanted to read one but he said Nanaw should bring the book to his house tomorrow, and they would read another one. After reading, Chase said he wanted to mix paint colors. So Nanaw got everything set up on the kitchen counter. She got out the little jars of paint from Dollar Tree, the brushes, paper and little bowls of water to clean the brushes. Chase filled up two pages with specially mixed colors. It was really interesting to see the different colors he made. After the painting, Chase wanted to do science experiments. So first they mixed corn starch with vinegar and got minor explosions of bubbles. Then they mixed cornstarch with water and food coloring to make blue and yellow ooblek. They learned about both experiments from the Magic House. It was grand fun. Nanaw took pictures, of course. Mama was very proud that Chase and Nanaw did some fun activities.
