Chase’s exciting weekend adventure was spending the night out at Aspenhof with Nanaw. Mama and Daddy were going to a wedding so Nanaw took Chase with her – she was deliriously happy to have Chase with her. On the way out to Aspenhof, Nanaw stopped at Goodwill in Washington and bought five toys for Chase: a train (which Chase calls Thomas -- all trains are Thomas according to Chase); a Winnie the Pooh laptop; a little piano; an alphabet game that makes phone noises; and a fire truck. Chase and Nanaw went for a walk on the walking trail around the lake, and Chase seemed to have a grand time. He smiled the whole time, and stomped his feet on what Nanawcalls the troll bridge. After their walk, Chase and Nanaw went to McDonald’s in Warrenton for chicken McNuggets. There was a little boy there at a nearby table, and Chase repeated everything the little boy said – it was very cute. In the evening, Chase and Nanaw cleaned up the rocks around the fireplace that Chase messed up the last time he spent the night at Aspenhof with Nanaw.
