Sunday was Uncle Mike's 51st birthday, and most of the family came to Nanaw's house for his birthday dinner. Nanaw made mostacciolli and the birthday cake was German chocolate, Uncle Mike's favorite. Nanaw bought the kind of birthday candles that re-light themselves, and Chase thought that was really funny. He kept trying to blow them out and then laughed and laughed when they re-lit themselves. Chase was really good and well-behaved during the birthday dinner. He ran around laughing and played with Daddy in Chase's room for awhile. He ate some fruit and garlic knots and ice cream and juice and lots of red licorice -- not a very healthy meal but Nanaw will make sure he eats lots of healthy stuff the next few days. Cheyenne came for the dinner also, and she was also good and well-behaved. She was fascinated with one of the couches, and Uncle Mike and cousin Joe lifted it up to prove to her that there weren't any cats underneath the couch. Nanaw's cats always hide out downstairs when either Cheyenne or Sam comes to visit.
