On Wednesday morning at Nanaw's house, Chase asked Nanaw to write a story and draw a picture for him while he was at school and give it to him after school. So Nanaw did. Nanaw's story was about the proposed visit to the Science Center on Friday afternoon when Chase is off school. He only has a half day of school on Friday. Chase really liked the game room at the Science Center so that's what he and Nanaw will concentrate on Friday. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he said, "I have something to tell you." Nanaw said, "Okay?" Then Chase said, "It's not happy," and Nanaw got concerned. Chase said he fell down on the blacktop at first recess and hurt his knee. Jackson P. took him inside to the office, and Mrs. Lewis put a Band-Aid on his knee. Chase showed the Band-Aid to Nanaw when they got to the car. On the way home, Nanaw stopped at the tax man's office to drop off her tax papers. They always have bowls of candy there, and Chase got a Starburst and a Hershey's kiss. When they got home, Chase typed a thank-you note to Nanaw on the laptop and printed it out all by himself for the story she wrote for him. Nanaw isn't quite sure how he knows how to print all by himself -- maybe from computer class.
