Chase returned from his Camp O adventure at about 7:30 on Thursday evening, an hour later than planned. First. The bus driver decided to take the scenic route. Then he tried to take a Quarry Road shortcut but the road is closed so that didn't work. Nanaw got to go with Mama and Daddy to pick Chase up. The bus was really big and impressive and some of the parents said it had a bathroom. It was so wonderful to see Chase when he got off the bus. Mama, Daddy, and Chase gathered up all of Chase's bags, his pillow, and other things. Back at Chase's house, they had Chase's favorite for dinner: pizza and breadsticks from Pizza Hut. While they ate, Chase gave a detailed rundown of his Camp O adventure. He said that when they got there and after putting their things in the sleeping cabin, they played some games together -- rock, paper, scissors, and building structures with their bodies. They had sloppy Joes for lunch; Chase said they were really good. After lunch, they went canoeing and kayaking, with life jackets. Chase said it was fun. Next, they had archery, and Chase said he got a bulls-eye. At 5 p.m., they had Mass; the first picture below is Chase doing a reading for Mass, with Stella next to him. He said it was a long one, a whole page. For dinner, they had beef and bow-tie pizza that Chase said was really good. After dinner, they had a bonfire. Then it was time for a shower and then bed. Chase said he fell asleep right away with Tee Tee and had a good night's sleep. In the morning, he said there were scrambled eggs for breakfast but he didn't have any; he had French toast, which he really liked, and cereal. After breakfast, they went on their all-day hike, which Chase said was fun. The group went to two caves, although Chase only went to one cave. He thought he saw spiders in the cave and decided to avoid the other cave. For lunch, they had sun butter and jelly sandwiches, which Chase said were good, plus chips as a side. In the afternoon, they had a task to do. First, they had to build a fire. Next, they had to boil water. For dinner, they had turkey sandwiches. Then it was time to pack up for the bus ride home. Chase said he had a great time, and he's glad he got to go camping O and had no problem with his bus buddy. The last picture is one Nanaw took for Chase of the lemurs having a sleepover at her house.
