Today was Chase's first day of school: He's now a seventh grader! Following our first day of school tradition, Mama took two pictures of Chase out on the deck. The first one was Chase without Tee Tee, which Mama posted on Facebook. The second one was Chase with Tee Tee, which she sent to Nanaw. Nanaw also posted the photo without Tee Tee on her Facebook page. Chase had been looking forward to the school lunch of cheese pizza, one of his favorites. Nanaw missed Chase when he was at school -- she had such a good time with him this summer. It was fun for Nanaw to pick Chase up from school. She had something special to talk to him about. This morning, Mama talked to Chase about him not liking school and not wanting to go back to school. She said that sometimes she didn't want to go to work but she knew she had to. And Chase said, "But you get paid for it!" So Nanaw decided she would pay Chase a dollar a day for going to school. He seemed to like that idea even though it wasn't much money -- $5.00 a week, the same as his allowance without grass-cutting or laundry-doing. Last night, Chase had his first practice with the Bears baseball team. They had to do 70 push-ups, and Chase said he was fine doing them. He found out that he's on the number one team, and he's happy about that. He has his first Bears game on Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m. His schoolmate Connor is also on that team, and Chase is happy about that.
