Mama took the day off on Nanaw's birthday to spend the day with her. First, Mama had a doctor's appointment. Then she came over to Nanaw's house, and they left on their adventures. First, they drove to Jack in the Box in Collinsville because Nanaw wanted Tiny Tacos for lunch. Mama got two regular tacos and a chicken sandwich. Nanaw gave one of her Tiny Tacos to Mama and saved one for Chase. After their lunch adventure, they went to Cato's, a dress shop, where Mama bought two pairs of Capris and Nanaw didn't buy anything. Then they went to the library, and Mama checked out books, and Nanaw bought a David Baldacci book from the sale shelf. Next, they went looking for a UPS store where Mama could have her work phone returned. Mama finally found on in an Advanced Auto store -- such a funny place for a UPS store. Mama's GPS sent them on a really roundabout way to the Advanced Auto store, but they got to see new places and drive on a really hilly road. When they got back to Columbia, Nanaw wanted to go in the Gedern subdivision and look for someone's house, and they did. Then they went to Mama's street so they could see where the house was being demolished -- very interesting and confusing. Mama took Nanaw home, and Nanaw picked Chase up from school. He had math homework -- measuring -- and he worked on that while watching Curious George. Mama picked Chase up at 4:15 for baseball practice. At 5:45, Mama, Daddy and Chase picked Nanaw up and they met Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky at Joe Boccardi's for dinner. Nanaw ate bread, salad, steak and cavatelli -- yum. Chase had two pieces of bread, Dino nuggets and French fries. Uncle Mike and Aunt Becky gave Nanaw a clock tower that lights up. Mama, Daddy and Chase gave Nanaw Amazon gift cards, a Vinyard candle, Cardinals' license plates and a Gnome display where you change the gnome's hands for different holidays. Nanaw hung it on the front door. For dessert at Nanaw's house, they had cheesecake with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunks.
