Nanaw went over to Chase's house on Sunday afternoon before he went to baseball practice. Nanaw brought along the Uno machine and Uno cards but Chase didn't want to play. He also didn't want to go outside to play with Nanaw. Mama didn't want them to play on Chase's bed because she had just straightened it out. For a little while, they played on Mama's bed with some of Chase's stuffed animals. Then for awhile, they watched women's hockey on television. Finally, Nanaw asked Chase to go out in the field behind his house for a walk and to exterminate leaves. He liked that idea and agreed to go. He wanted Mama to go along, and she said yes, if he would give her a few minutes to finish cleaning, and Chase agreed. Outside, Nanaw and Chase selected sticks but Mama didn't want a stick. It was rough going in the field because of all the brush and sticks on the ground. Nanaw went off on her own for a minute to explore if there's a creek, and there is. The field is supposed to become a park. Nanaw left when it was time for Chase to go to baseball practice. Nanaw drove around the neighborhood to see what the subdivision next to the field is called because that's going to be the name of the park -- the park will be Creekside Park. Cole's house in Gedern Estates is close enough for him to walk to the park. Here's what the web says about the proposed park: "The future Creekside Park is a 17 acre tract located along Rueck Road, situated between Creekside and Wilson Hills subdivisions. Proposed plans for Creekside Park include a 1 acre lake/pond, off-street parking, picnic pavilion, playspace and walking trail." The first picture below is from Chase's school's Facebook page.
