Chase and Nanaw had a wonderful adventure on Friday. They went to visit the Train House for the first time since the Christmas holidays. The weather was cooler than usual so Nanaw decided it would be a perfect day to visit the museum. In the main lobby, they saw several very cool cars, including a gold Firebird. There was also a book sale going on. Parked in the lobby was a huge Bookmobile from the St. Louis Public Library. At first, Chase told Nanaw she couldn't look at books in the book sale but later on he changed his mind and said she could look for a few minutes. They rode on the train, even though Chase said he didn't want to. They counted the bones and got them right the first trip around. But on the second trip, Nanaw missed two and Chase missed one. Next, they went up the hill to the car museum and looked at all the cars. Chase really likes the cars. Back in the main building, Nanaw bought Chase a box of popcorn and a red fruit drink. While they were sitting at the table, Chase said the train ride was fun -- this from the one who didn't want to go. There was also a McDonnell Douglas display in the main building. As they were looking at books, their friend Lynn came over to see them and give them both hugs. It was good to see her. For school, they did long division problems, multiplication flash cards, Xplor magazine, a writing organization worksheet, a worksheet about how the US government works, making improper fractions into mixed numbers, a US Constitution worksheet, and a prepositional phrases worksheet. The first picture is Chase holding the little Fisher Price figures Mama took with her as a joke for her sleepover with Auntie LaLa. The second picture is a train Chase made out of the stuffed lemurs and Fluffy Jr., the white fox, in honor of their trip to the Train House  The sixth picture is of a Fiero in the car museum; Nanaw told Chase that Pawpaw had a Fiero and then Mama bought it from him and loved that car.
