Daddy had the day off work so he spent the morning with Chase. They tried to go to the Columbia Fishermens' Club that Daddy joined but they were unable to get in. So next they went to the big park and rollerbladed. Then they went to Taco Bell to bring lunch for Nanaw and Chase. Daddy took Taco Bell home to Mama. There was a little delay to lunch because the cleaning lady didn't leave till 12:45 p.m. Chase and Nanaw watched the replay of yesterday's Cardinals game, which they lost. Chase and Nanaw talked about the adventure at the lake yesterday, and Chase said he had a really good time. He really liked swimming in the lake and shooting off the fireworks. Nanaw didn't tell Chase how worried she was about him and the other kids lighting the fireworks and standing so close. One of the things they shot off veered sideways and almost hit Coach Tim before ending up in the woods. It could have caused serious injuries. Chase did his AR reading before school. He only did it on Friday, just one day of the three days he wasn't with Nanaw. Chase asked Nanaw if they could just have an hour of school, and Nanaw said yes. They did division flash cards, state capitals, telling time, subtraction problems, two and three-digit multiplication problems, reading about bats, bobolinks and fish in the Xplor magazine, and words with Greek and Roman prefixes and suffixes. In the evening, Chase was going to go swimming in his pool. He has a baseball game at eight tomorrow night, and Nanaw might go. His last baseball game of the season is next Monday night, also at eight, and Nanaw might go to that one also. He starts his hockey Learn to Play practice this Sunday at 2:55 p.m.
