St. Nicholas gave Chase Emoji pajamas, Emoji candy, and an Emoji coloring book. Wednesday was Nanaw 's day to volunteer in Chase's kindergarten class and Chase and Nanaw were both excited about that. Nanaw got to help the boys and girls make Santa Claus windsocks. They did accordion folds of long strips of white paper, and Nanaw stapled the paper strips to the Santa Claus faces the kids had made, then Nanaw stapled the faces into circles to make the windsocks -- it was grand fun. Mrs. Herrmann noticed that Nanaw was warm and gave her a little bottle of cold water -- she's such a mom. On the way out of school, Koda and Cole gave Nanaw hugs, and Koda asked if she could stay all day -- it was very sweet and made Nanaw very happy. Chase also gave Nanaw a hug when she left, but only one. He said he would give her another hug when she picked him up from school, and he did. In the afternoon, Uncle Mike met Chase and Nanaw at Home Depot to help her buy a Christmas tree. It was Chase's first time at a Christmas tree lot, and he had lots of fun looking at trees. In the evening, Mama and Chase were coloring with his box of 64 crayons with a sharpener. Mama said they have weird new names for the crayons -- like robin's egg blue and macaroni and cheese -- so funny.
