Mama had the day off on Friday for her day with Uncle Mike so she took Chase to school. When Nanaw picked Chase up from school, he told her he had some scary news for her. He said the fire alarm went off and they all had to go outside. He said he didn't wear his jacket and that it was really cold. Before dismissal, Nanaw talked to Brady's dad and he told her about the fire alarm. He said it was unexpected and was caused by some dust getting into the panel where the fire alarm was. He said Brady had insisted on wearing shorts to school and he was really cold outside -- his knees were knocking together. After school, Chase and Nanaw went to the bank (where Chase got one of his green suckers) and then to the cemetery. When they got home, Nanaw worked on flash cards for 6, 7 8 and 9. In her newsletter, Mrs. Meyer said they were going to work on two digit addition next week and that it would be good if they knew their addition facts. So that answers a question Nanaw had about whether they should be memorizing the addition and subtraction tables. So Nanaw is going to work on the flashcards with Chase. Chase got to stay until 6:30, and Nanaw fed him dinner. Everybody was downstairs watching the Cardinals baseball game. Uncle Mike was going to spend the night.
