Nanaw and Chase had a good day on Friday. Nanaw thinks she might have found a way to get Chase to focus and concentrate on doing his school work. He kept getting distracted and not doing his work. He played with Tee Tee, and Nanaw didn't want to try taking Tee Tee away from him again. Tee Tee is his security blanket, and this is rough time for everybody. It's especially rough for children who don't understand what's going on and don't realize things will eventually get better. So Nanaw wants Chase to have the security that Tee Tee provides. Nanaw came up with the idea of taking away laptop time when Chase loses focus and doesn't concentrate. So every time Nanaw had to remind Chase to get back to work, she took away 10 minutes from laptop time; he started with 180 minutes and ended up with 150 minutes. This really made an impression on Chase and really helped him get through his work. So Nanaw is going to try this again next week and hope that it works. Chase did morning work, a spring prep page, three fancy pages, subtraction flash cards, subtraction problems, handwriting practice and reading. So it was a full, productive day. Chase, Nanaw and all the stuffed animals also snuggled, which was lots of fun. Chase and Nanaw didn't water the plants because it rained fairly hard this morning.
